Bacon Crostini

A bacon crostini is simply irresistible goodness.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Baguette cut ¼ inch thick
  • 12 slices Bacon Cooked and chopped
  • 2 tbsp. Garlic EVOO*
  • 1 Onion sliced thinly
  • 6 oz. Whipped Cream Cheese
  • 3 tbsp. Fresh herbs (basil and parsley) chopped and optional
  • 3 tbsp. BBQ Sauce
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
 

For the BBQ Onions:

  • Heat a skillet on medium-high heat. Add in a tablespoon of garlic EVOO along with the sliced onions.
  • Cook for 4 minutes or until golden brown. Stir occasionally. Season the onions with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat to low and cook the onions for 15-20 minutes.
  • Add in a few tablespoons of water and stir occasionally. Lastly add the BBQ sauce. Allow the BBQ sauce and onions to mingle for 4-5 minutes before using.

For the Bacon Crostini:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Transfer the baguette slices to the prepared sheet. Drizzle a tablespoon of garlic EVOO over the slices and bake until golden brown (approximately 4 minutes).
  • Remove the crostini's from the oven.
  • Spread the whipped cream cheese over the crostini. Top them off with the BBQ onions, chopped bacon, and fresh herbs. Enjoy!
