It’s the summer time and everything is fine….so grab a drink a watermelon margarita.
Quick Ingredient Breakdown
The top 4 ingredients for this cocktail includes the following:
- Watermelon: I mean…is the cocktail really a watermelon drink without the water to the melon? We think not, so make sure a fresh mini watermelon is on deck!
- Tequila: Well, just like the watermelon, it’s kinda hard to call this drink a margarita. We recommend the use of Casamigos (because it’s clutch).
- Orange Liqueur: The key to a classic margarita is the use of triple sec. It adds a little sumthin’ sumthin’. Also, it taste pretty darn great.
- Lime Juice: Freshness is the policy for killer drinks. Lime juice adds brightness.
Making the Watermelon Margarita
Rim Garnish
When it comes to making things pretty take your time. Some rim options include salt, sugar, or Tajín seasoning. Of course since this drink is all about watermelons, it’s only right to garnish with a slice.
To make the sugar, salt, or seasoning rim follow the steps below:
- Pour Tajín into a dish. Make sure the Tajín is at least a quarter of an inch high and also wider than the rim of your chosen glassware.
- Using a lime wedge, spread the juice along the rim of the glassware.
- Dip the rim into the dish. And twist the glassware around a bit to ensure the entire rim is coated.
- Pour the cocktail into the glass.
Watermelon Margarita Cocktail
Making this cocktail is pretty straight forward. So let’s sum it up. Cut up a small watermelon, blend it, and strain it. In a shallow bow or plate add the Tajín and salt if needed. With a squeezed lime halves, run it along the rim glass and then dip into the shallow bowl/plate. Next in a cocktail shaker add in the watermelon juice, lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur, and ice.
