So, the traditional blend has a combination of spice and sweetness. Brands that are traditional include: Evan Williams, Jim Beam, Knob Creek, Old Crow, and Wild Turkey.
- Rye – This type of bourbon has a different mixture. There’s less corn used, barely any wheat added, and contains double the amount of rye. The taste is more peppery, which means it has a stronger kick. Brands of rye whiskey include: Woodford Reserve, Four Roses, Basil Hayden, Redemption, and Buffalo Trace.
- Wheat – A wheat bourbon is prepared similar to a traditional bourbon. Only difference being that the wheat replaces the rye. Out of all 3, wheat is a little sweeter and smoother. Meaning it doesn’t burn your throat. Some brands that make wheat bourbon include: Maker’s Mark and Old Fitzgerald.
