Pistachio Milk
This recipe could not shine without the pistachio milk. Yes, this milk is vegan, but the other ingredients added in this particular recipe are not vegan-friendly.
Making this milk is very similar to any other type of almond or cashew milk. Quick tip: For a pure green milk hue, make sure to scrub the pistachios before adding to container. Once scrubbed, add to your container of choice along with 4 cups of purified water. Allow to refrigerator overnight. Pulse the pistachios first in a blender and then add in the filtered water. BOOM you’ve made your first batch of pistachio milk.
Chocolate
In terms of chocolate, we wanted to see as much as possible the natural color of the pistachio milk. With that being said, we used white chocolate and ditched both the natural cocoa powder and dark chocolate. We know to all those chocolate lovers out there, white chocolate does not cut it. But why not just take a chance on it? Our favorite white chocolate brand is Valrhona it is really great for baking.
Making the Pistachio Hot Chocolate
Add milk, sugar, espresso powder, and pistachio butter into a medium saucepan. Heat over a medium/medium-low heat, whisking occasionally until warm (but not boiling). Next add in the white chocolate and cocoa butter and whisk constantly until everything melts. Lastly, whisk in the vanilla extract and serve immediately.

Pistachio Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 4 cups Purified Water
- 1 cup Pistachios
- ¼ cup Cocoa butter
- ½ tsp Vanilla extract
- ¼ cup Sugar
- 5 oz. White chocolate
- 3 cups Pistachio milk
- ½ cup Heavy cream
- ¼ tsp Espresso powder
- 2 tspp. Pistachio butter
Instructions
Pistachio Milk
- Soak the pistachios in the purified water overnight.
- Transfer the pistachio nuts into a food processor/blender and blend on a high speed for approximately 30-60 seconds. Then add the water and continue to blend for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour the liquid into a bowl through layers of cheesecloth or fine-mesh sieve. This process drains the liquid only, leaving behind any large chunks of nuts.
- Pour the milk into a bottle and refrigerate until ready for use.
