A hamburger slider is cute and small. Capable of serving a large hungry crowd or a small family on game night. These sliders are easy to make and completely homemade! Alright let’s bite into these sliders…..

Let’s Talk Bun..

With so many buns to choose from…..which ones are the best? Well…since you asked so nicely our garlic brioche rolls would make the perfect slider bun. Just saying…If you use this recipe and really are like a die-hard sesame seed kinda person. Just add a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top of each bun before baking (should be added right after the egg wash).

Okay I get it…you don’t have the time nor patience to make slider buns from scratch. So for your convenience, I’ve listed below some of my favorite store-brought buns and the links to purchase:

Making the Hamburger Slider

close-up of cheeseburger and hamburger sliders

The old school way and the more fun way of making sliders is to simply make smaller hamburger patties….I know many people like to just cook the hamburger meat and then assemble the burgers and pop them in the oven for a few minutes. Well, I deal with individuals who are not huge fans of cheese, so that option is completely out of the question. To make this hamburger slider you’ll need the following ingredients: ground beef, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and bbq sauce.

So, remove the ground beef from the packaging then season well with the ingredients listed above. Next, form about 8 small patties and allow to chill in the fridge for roughly 30 minutes. This will just keep them from falling apart during the cooking process. Now it’s time to get cookin! Heat up your grill or skillet or cast iron and cook each patty for roughly 5-8 minutes. Make sure to turn them over half-way through cooking.

OH! The Toppings

A great finish to any hamburger slider is the toppings of course! Rather you like pickles, grilled onions, raw onions, butter lettuce, or tomatoes. The list is infinite and the choice is all yours! Our favorite go-to toppings are: BBQ onions, tomatoes, butter lettuce, and dill pickles.

Servings 8 Sliders

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Chuck ground beef 85% lean
  • 8 Brioche Slider buns
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tsp Barbecue sauce optional
  • 1 tsp Fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce optional
  • 1 Tomato
  • 16 pieces Bread and Chip pickles
  • 8 pieces Butter lettuce
  • 1-4 slices Sharp cheddar cheese optional
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, add the 85% lean ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and BBQ sauce. Mix well with a spoon or clean hands.
  • Form 8 slider patties with the ground beef and transfer to a large plate. Wrap the plate with plastic wrap and refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes or overnight. (This process is not necessary, but will prevent the patties from falling apart during cooking.)
  • Preheat a gas grill or cast iron skillet. Grill the burgers over medium heat for 2 to 4 minutes per side or until the burgers reach 160 degrees F.
  • If adding sharp cheddar cheese slices, top the burgers with the sliced cheese. Then cover the grill or skillet for roughly 30 seconds to allow the cheese to melt.
  • Deck-out your hamburger sliders in your favorite toppings (tomato, lettuce, pickles, ketchup, mustard, etc.) and serve hot.
