The Garden Rosé Ingredients
This drink does not require many ingredients. So, instead of giving bullet points of each item. We thought we shake things up and tell ya a little more.
Jump to RecipeRosé
The key ingredient to this cocktail is of course the sparkling rosé. If you’re not to fond of bubbly feel free to replace it with just regular rosé wine. We used Cavicchioli 1928 Spumante Dolce Rosé because of its bright hue, sweet taste, and beautiful flavor. This sparkling wine is made from Lambrusco grapes, which is from the Modena region in Italy. In addition to its beautiful color, this wine has a rose petal hue (soft floral taste).
St. Germain
St. Germain is simply elderflower liqueur. Elderflower is a small white flower that grows on elderberry bushes. This particular liqueur can normally be found at liquor stores, online shops, and total wine. The taste/flavor of St. Germain is sweet, bright, floral/fragrant. Besides a cocktail, St. Germain has numerous other uses. Such as a cake soak, Italian ice, relish, etc. An example of its uses would be from the royal wedding cake of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Raspberry Simple Syrup
The raspberry simple syrup is an optional ingredient. It just makes this drink taste a little bit like our raspberry lemonade. If you choose to add it here’s how to make it.
- In a bowl add one cup of sugar and half a cup of fresh organic raspberries. Muddle the berries into the sugar. Allow the mixture to mingle for 30 minutes before proceeding.
- In a saucepan add the raspberry sugar mixture and half a cup of water. Cook until the sugar dissolves.
- Strain the simple syrup into a jar and refrigerate until ready to use.
Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is added for a touch a brightness. It also balances the flavors in the cocktail, ultimately leading to a well-balance cocktail.
Making the Garden Rosé
Once the raspberry simple syrup is ready to rock….this cocktail is pretty darn easy to make. In a cocktail shaker add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, raspberry simple syrup, St. Germain, and ice. Shake well. Strain the mixture into a glass. Top it off with sparkling rosé and garnish with fresh raspberries and dried rose petals.
Shaking Things Up…
Want to turn up this cocktail a few more notches? Well…don’t just stop after the addition of the St. Germain. Feel free to add 2-3 ounces of gin or vodka to the cocktail shaker. This will transition the drink to the rosé version of a French 76 or 77.
