Aioli originated in either Spain, Italy, or France. It’s hard to really say where it all started. But in those days aioli was made out of just olive oil and garlic. In some areas, the sauce is made with eggs being an emulsion. A emulsion simply means mixing two or more liquids that are not miscible. Basically you’re forcing the two to combine, but they don’t like each other. Although, the mixture does not fully combine. The mixture does create a creamy and fluffy texture.
The world Aioli is used often. In today’s society it means mayo with extra added flavor. That’s exactly what will be discussed here. Easy aioli sauces to be used as a dressing, or dip, or spread on a delicious buttery toasted bun. Below you’ll find two different aioli recipes. One aioli featuring pickle juice for a more tangy taste. The other aioli features jalapeño syrup, dill, and parsley for a more savory spicy taste. Below you’ll find both recipes.
Sauce #1: Dill
Let’s talk Dill! This sauce is perfect for just about anything. Such as a fried chicken sandwich, veggies, turkey burger, or fries. In order to recreate this recipe you’ll need the following ingredients: mayo (vegan or not), dill (fresh or dried), jalapeño syrup, lemon juice, parsley (fresh or dried), onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, kosher salt, and fresh black pepper. What sets this sauce apart from others is the jalapeño syrup. I’ve made candied jalapeños, and used the left over syrup to make this dill sauce. If not available, this jalapeño syrup could be purchased instead. Or simply do not add the syrup to this sauce.
First, place roughly half to full cup of mayonnaise into a small mixing bowl. Next, add in the seasonings garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and onion powder. Mix well. Then, add in the chopped parsley, dill weed, and jalapeño syrup. Again mix well. Lastly, add the lemon juice and stir vigorously. Serve chill.
Tangy Aioli

To replicate this tangy sauce grab some mayo, cayenne pepper, dill juice, Hungarian paprika, salt, chili powder, black pepper, onion, and garlic powder. - 1 cup Vegan Mayo*
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1/3 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp Hungarian paprika
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/3 tsp Fresh ground black pepper
- 2 tsp Dill Juice
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl add the following: mayo, black pepper, kosher salt, Hungarian paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Lastly add the pickle juice. Stir well.
- Serve cold.
