Type of Bread

The ideal types of bread for this recipe are baguettes or French bread. We used a mini baguette, since our garlic bread was for date night. But we are garlic butter lovers…so this recipe is perfect for mini or regular sized baguettes/ French bread. Ohhh doesn’t everyone just love bread?

How to make Garlic Bread

Ingredients Needed

  • Baguette or French bread simply cannot make this garlic bread without the bread right? As stated before either baguette or french bread would work for this recipe.
  • Butter or extra virgin olive oil are the true contenders to the best bread. It provides the best flavor, unlike margarine. For the best experience, use a combination of both.
  • Garlic the key to this bread is the use of garlic of course!
  • Fresh Ground Black Pepper makes the bread just taste better overall. Kinda like how some restaurants serve bread with olive oil and pepper for dipping.
  • Fresh Parsley the fresh herbs provide color to the bread. If fresh parsley is not available, try dried parsley, basil, or oregano. Even a mixture of these 3 herbs could truly work.
  • Optional Cheese if you’re a huge fan of cheese, add grated parmesan or mozzarella to the bread before baking. It leads to an amazingly cheesy bread experience.

Making the Bread

Okay now that we discussed the ideal bread….let’s make garlic happen! First things first, chop up a few gloves of fresh garlic. Since you’re in a chopping mood, go ahead and chop up a handful of fresh parsley as well. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. To make the process easy, use unsalted room temperature butter. Place the butter, garlic, and fresh herbs into a bowl. Mix well together and then season with salt and fresh ground black pepper. Spread the mixture on the french bread. If adding cheese, sprinkle on top of the bread and bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are toasty and golden.

What to serve with Garlic Bread?

So many dishes could be served along these crunchy amazing breads. Let’s talk options….
