Sometimes you want a protein and vegetable all the way. Well let me introduce you to these amazingly juicy (thanks to spinach) turkey and spinach sliders…Geez that’s kind of mouth-full.
I remember the first time I made this recipe. My refrigerator had a large amount of spinach and knowing that turkey can easily become dry. We just decided to chop up some fresh spinach and add it into the ground turkey. Boy oh boy…was that a good idea. The burgers came out amazing and I was able to make a non-spinach lover enjoy the dish!
Let’s dive into these juicy turkey and spinach sliders!
Ingredients to this Killer Slider
Alright…let’s briefly get into the ingredients for this amazing slider.
- Ground Turkey – Simply cannot make a turkey slider without the ground turkey!
- Fresh Spinach – The freshly chopped spinach adds a better taste to this slider compared to frozen spinach. Definitely helps create a juicy and tasty slider.
- Garlic Cloves – Are you a sucker for garlic? Well we are and love the flavor profile.
- Worcestershire – This sauce helps enhance the flavor of burger and also binds the burger together.
- Seasonings – Now seasoning will also be key to any recipe! Seasonings are of high importance. Mix together the dry ingredients: kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, onion powder, cumin, and smoked paprika.
- Slider buns – A burger is only as good as its bun! Luckily for you we have these killer brioche rolls that can be used as slider buns. But during these difficult times, we know it might be hard to find yeast. So here’s a few of our favorite alternatives: pepperidge, king’s Hawaiian, and potato rolls.
Making the Turkey and Spinach Sliders
Making these sliders is simple and easy. First, chop up a good handful of fresh spinach. Next, mince a few garlic gloves and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the following: ground turkey, chopped spinach, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings of course. Mix all the ingredients well, using either clean hands or a spatula.
After that, it’s time to form the patties. So, divide the meat into 8 sliders and transfer to a large plate. Cover the plate with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes or overnight. Although, this process is not necessary it does prevent the burgers from falling completely a part. Preheat a cast iron skillet or fire-up the grill. Cook the turkey and spinach sliders for 3-4 minutes per side or until thermometer reads 165 degrees F.
Toast up the slider buns and add your favorite toppings to your turkey and spinach sliders.
